Much to Look Forward to at the 31 annual San Francisco Jewish Film Festival

This year’s San Francisco Jewish Film Festival will be held from July 21 to August 8 in San Francisco, Berkeley, Palo Alto, and San Rafael. The goal of the festival is to promote the use of Jewish themes in movies and to encourage the exploration of the Jewish culture through film. The festival, which is known by many as “The Bay Area’s favorite Jewish holiday,” is one of the most attended Jewish Film Festivals.

The festival will offer 110 screenings of 58 films which come from over 15 countries. Opening night’s screening of Mabul (The Flood), an Israeli drama that has been nominated for six Israeli Oscars, starts the festival off with a bang and will be shown an additional three times during the festival. Other exciting films to watch out for are Bobby Fischer Against the World and Sarah’s Key.
